What's The Problem? It's your fault

Let me start by saying I had decided to not really get into posting on Rick and the Karen Sypher deal for a couple of reasons. One by the time I got a chance to due to work it was old. For another I didn't really see the point since the University of Louisville has chosen to turn a blind eye towards the whole deal in the name of wins. Really had their football coach done this do you think he would have been safe?....Exactly.

So Ricky P steps to the mike and berates the local media....saying basically it's your fault for the ills that have come since his last new conference. Good for him.....give him heck Ricky! Those lying, cheating, holier than thou good for nothings, what exactly have they done for him???? Ever since the story broke they have done nothing but sit on the story and wait, what's that all about? Come on now refusing to run with the story after Karen initially went to the Louisville Courier-Journal is unacceptable. Not publishing some of the stories that the New York Post did was totally uncalled for. Can anyone blame him for not being mad as nails?

Sarcasm aside what exactly did Rick hope for this afternoon when he went off on the media in the state? By accusing them of not printing that Karen is telling lies when he said they all know she is. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't' recall them ever printing anything from her as the gospel truth and Rick lying. The media isn't suppose to presume if she is or isn't lying. What they have done is printed that some outlets didn't want to run with some of the stories she has told. They have done nothing but put her in a bad light. I don't think anyone but close friends and family think she is crazy based on the stories that have been reported by the media. So why is he upset? Tired of hearing about it I guess and getting embarrassed more and more each time too, I suppose.

Following up with where he left off in his last presser he pointed out how disappointed he was that on a day when Ted Kennedy died(Objection, relevance your honor?) he had to hear more stuff about Karen. He went on to tell us that we should worry about more important things like the economy than the details of what happened. In that part of the tirade conference he asked that Cards fans turn the channel or read something else. In other words look away this is going to get ugly and I don't want my fans to see the train wreck that is about to happen.

Going on with that theme he questioned how the news folks could worry about his scandal when so much was going on in the world. Again bringing up the economy and Teddy's death. Listen Rick that is why the newspaper and news shows have different categories, so they can cover new. sports and business. I don't think that is a problem for them to cover all three. I'm pretty sure they cover more than 3 everyday so while it is nice to worry about it, it's ok Rick they can handle it. It just appears you can't. Remember you said you understand how the media works earlier in the same press conference. By the way if you can't handle the stuff now just wait till your first road game.

The thing that got me was he had the testicular fortitude to basically say "On a day when a man like Ted Kennedy dies the media is breaking in with a story on the tapes that were released. What does that say about us?" What??? Rick whats does it say about a person that engages in sexually activity in a restaurant with someone you just met? While you have your assistant watch the door for you or lay down on the floor? Or that you give the woman $3000 for health insurance (*wink *wink)? Now THAT is a sad commentary on where we are when someone thinks that what the media has done is WORSE than what got us to this point to begin with.

Had it not been for your actions Rick on that day in 2003 none of this would have happened. So complain all you won't about how seeing this thing over and over is tough on your family. It's your fault. Complain all you want about how the woman is a liar and the media hasn't brought that out. It's your fault. Keep on talking about how your a proud New Yorker and you don't think this is right. It's all completely your fault. Your 'one mistake' happened to be a crazy woman....maybe you should have had a better screening process cause the Captain Morgan one didn't seem to turn out for ya.

The one thing that I hope comes from the whole ordeal is that the media accepts Rick's challenge. He told the media to go out and report all they want on the truth. he was tired of the lies. He wants them to search out and report on all the truth they want. In other words the ego has not been damaged only angered. Like Clint Eastwood saying "Go ahead make my day", Rick is asking them to investigate him. Be careful of what you wish for Rick and remember what ever comes from those investigations....It's your fault.
