NCAA could stick it to the wrong person again

So I am proud of the fact that I grew up in Muhlenberg County. I love the folks there and cherish the time that I called it home...it's still home to me. I am not in the least bit embarrassed that the new consolidated high school made a mistake in putting out fliers that advertised Darius Miller was coming to help out in a basketball camp. However I am embarrassed and frustrated that because of a little mistake it could cost Darius Miller one game. Really? One game? So MCHS now can't have Miller come to play, which he wasn't anyway because of making the USA 19 team and still Darius is subject to punishment? That is absurd to me.

I get it that there is a rule in place to make sure schools, organization and even the players themselves don't profit while in school but this is crazy to me. So you are going to make the kid sit out one game for a few pieces of paper that went out for an event that he wasn't going to be able to go to in the first place. He is going to be held accountable because someone in Greenville didn't check to make sure they could put his name on the flier. What is sitting out for a game going to accomplish? That will teach em.

At the end of the day the NCAA could tell Miller to sit out the opening game of the year. So we will have to miss him play against someone like Gardner-Webb. Is that a big deal? Humm wait it could be....oh yeah forgot different coach this year.

Wait just a minute if that is all it takes to get a player to sit out a game....humm I would like to announce that I will be posting a flier that - Edgar Sosa, Preston Knowles, Samardo Samuels and Terrence Jennings will all be in Pulaski County for a basketball camp later this summer...details to follow SHHHHH don't tell the NCAA!
