Highlights from UFC 102

I was working last night in Bowling Green. Our agency had a table at the Hot Rods baseball game so my duties as an employee took me there. Wasn't that bad because I got to watch a baseball game while working. They downside was in addition to being away from my family I missed one of the most anticipated fights in MMA History. Folks have been wanting to see Randy and Nog go at if for years. Finally it happened last night.

I was able to see it on line this afternoon and I have to admit it was as good as I had heard and read. The forst round my not be the best round in UFC history as one person claimed but it certainly is very good. Randy looked good but Nog was dominate. Without question he earned a title shot with the winner of Carwin and Lesnar later this year.

Keith Jardine got blasted by Thiago Silva. Keith is an odd fighter and you are going to get one of two things when he fights. Either he will lose in the first 2 minutes or it will go the distance. There is no in between. Last night it was the KO in the first 2 minutes.

There were a lot of good fights last night. The first and the last went the distance and only the Vera fight was boring. You had 3 (counting one on the under-card) that ended in less than 2 minutes. The one on the under-card was over in a record 7 seconds.
