Countdown to 2,000....wins
Alot of Kentucky Basketball fans are watching the clock, the wins clock that is. At the beginning of the year, Kentucky basketball held a slim 16 win lead on the Tarheels of North Carolina for All-time wins.
I always call Kentucky the all-time winningest team in college basketball. But for me it is a combination title. Yes, they have the most total wins, but they also have the fewest losses of any team in the top 50, maybe even more. UNC is withing 16 wins, but they have 78 more losses. UK has a winning % of 76.0% to UNC's 73.6%.
So, as of right now, UK is 15-4 while UNC is 15-2. UNC has not gained any ground to this point. If UNC makes a toureny run to the finals, and UK has a 2nd round out.....The most that UNC can gain is 7-8 wins. That would have UK starting 2009-2010 with roughly 1,994 wins and UNC at around 1,987. UK will easily get 6 wins before UNC gets 13 without a doubt. Especially with all of the talent that UNC is bound to lose.
