ESPN's Forde gave his thoughts on who should be in line for the Indiana job.
Among those mentioned were in order of priority:
1.) Tony Bennett of Washington State
2.) Sean Miller of Xavier
3.) Brad Brownell of Wright State
4.) Mark Few of Gonzaga
5.) Thad Matta of Ohio State
WOW!
I don't see any of those coaches being accepted at IU. After rediculous hires like Mike Davis and Kelvin Sampson following the legacy that is Robert Montgomery Knight, there is no way the fans at IU will accept anything less than top notch with proven ability to recruit AND win at the highest level of division 1 college basketball.
Turn to..........
Now I'm not going to turn this into a bash fest, but I do find this interesting....
Less than a year has gone by since fans in Lexington and the surrounding Bluegrass were bashed by the college basketball world, specifically ESPN and even more so Dick Vitale, for wanting to oust Tubby Smith. With his 26 wins per season average and ability to win numerous SEC and SEC Tournament Titles, and lets not forget his 98 National Championship, why is Tubby Smith not being mentioned in the talks about who to replace Sampson at IU?
I mean he should have been good enough for us illogical fans in Kentucky, according to ESPN, why isn't he good enough at Indiana?
Simple truth? Because 20 wins a season and one and done in the tourney was in fact not good enough at UK and it wouldn't be at IU either. But you'll never hear an ESPN analyst admit to that, will you?
