I said it earlier in the year. If Patrick Patterson had help down low and Jasper and Meeks were on the floor this would be a different team. We are seeing that. Jasper's stats are nothing to write home about. It's the intangibles that he brings to the table. His passes that lead to scores. His defense. His rebounding. Meeks has to be respected as a scorer, which takes pressure off the middle. But Perry Stevenson has been that player, you know, the one that seems to break out every year in SEC play? Yeah that's the one. Two great games from him in a row against good competition. SEC competition. And it hasn't just been put back dunks. It hasn't been just weak side help blocks. It's been toughness down low. It's been rebounding. It's been up and under moves for dunks. It's been flashes down the lane, actually CATCHING the pass and putting it down. Yes, he's been THAT player. No one would have ever predicted this, other than Shannon, because based on past experience, this isn't Stevenson's game. If he continues this kind of play, I would actually consider voiting for him as MVP of this team. Because without his play, it's the same story as the first half of the season.
